Group Events

Group Events are created to provide individuals, teams and organizations a venue for development and success. Events can take the form of anywhere from a three hour program designed to support the growth of the participants to an in-depth experience that can be designed for several days. The key to the creation of any successful event is taking into account exactly what your participants are needing and desiring for optimum growth and then aligning that with the variety of offerings we have and finally delivering the event by one of our competent consultant-trainers.

The following are just a few examples of components that can be plugged into any event:

The Remarkable Quest

The Remarkable Quest is a high energy, competitive, and really fun event.  It combines the navigation skills of a car rally and the problem-solving skills of orienteering, all at the fast pace of a large scavenger hunt. This competition offers the best of all worlds for action-packed fun and total team interaction. Quest locations can be arranged anywhere in the world…from your own “back yard” to the nearest town and from your local park to the center of Florence or the Costa Rican jungles.

Each team is deployed with a manual of clues and they race against the clock and each other as they work on finding as many destinations and hidden answers as possible. Along the way, teams must continually make decisions that will benefit their team. Most of the time participants are using foot power, but depending on the location they may end up using paddle boats, bicycles, horses, or public transportation…all adding to their creative spirit.

To keep the event even more interesting and fun there may be final winner…a team that has accumulated the most points or revenue. But in reality, everyone wins and at the end they will share what they have learned and what they will  take back to enhance their team and overall organization.

Mini-Yacht Regatta

The Mini-Yacht Regatta is a very creative challenge for any team. This challenge is designed to have teams really have to work together to only engineer a beautiful boat that will earn the team design points, but also to make it sturdy enough to complete the race. This event is a great practice for any team that works together on projects or for any teams that need to work well together to accomplish award winning results.

Each team is given a limited amount of materials and resources. With this they must design and manufacture a mini-yacht that will actually float and carry one captain to the regatta competition. Creativity is a must as the team designs a propulsion device and creates a  craft that is  sturdy enough to carry its captain through the rough seas and one that can withstand any gale forces encountered, any large waves or even survive attacks of the giant squids!

This event can be held anywhere there is a body of water…even a swimming pool will work just fine. After all, the real value of this event isn’t so much about who won the regatta as it is about the cherished moments of a team working together and the lessons that are brought home and put to use.

The Olympic Challenge is a great event to support teams in getting a close up look at what is working well within their team and what areas could use some improvement. In order to be successful in these challenges, a team must be aligned, committed and work well together. To excel in this event requires similar skills, characteristics and practices that are essential to succeed in real life. Working together in close alliance in a non-threatening environment opens up many possibilities for teams to experience their level of operation.

Each team has between 6 and 15 participants. Everyone is provided the materials they will need to compete in these challenges: maps, activity directions, timelines, goals, equipment, etc. When the event begins, the teams must strategize their best approach to be successful in the variety of challenges they will be facing. We will design the challenges to meet the specific make up of the participants. ..everything from delivering marbles in unique ways and finding your way through a maze to putting bicycles together that will be given to children ion the community and rafting down a river.

This event can be designed as a three hour session or a full day of activities finishing up with presentations of what each team will begin to put into effect in their organization when they return. The competition is really fun and productive with tangible results that can enhance the operations of any team!

Racing for Success

Using the excitement and spirit of an “Indy 500” race, your teams will build a sleek, fancy, high powered, custom racing machine. (or at least they will do their best to convince everyone of that description) Your high powered race teams will choose parts from a variety of raw materials including cardboard, PVC pipe, the ever precious duct tape (a must for every Indy car) and more.  After teams secure materials they must design and construct a one-person race car that will be driven by one of the team members. The propulsion for these machines are clever…the oil companies are hoping this won’t leak out or they will be out of business!

Successful car building requires total teamwork including alignment of ideas, problem solving, creativity, focused leadership, thoughtful decision making and clear assignment of team member roles and responsibilities. As the car takes shape teams are ready to test drive, detail, and make final mechanical adjustments before the big race.

It’s doubtful that your participants will ever be on a real race track, yet the lessons and insights from this activity are precious for your teams’ development and they are truly a lot of fun!

Catapults Away!

Launching into Possibilities

In this creative activity, teams are challenged to design and build a wooden catapult which is made from wood, bolts, nuts, and elastic bands. The physical goal is to launch an egg into a target without cracking the egg. The more important goal is to work together as a team to accomplish a challenge that requires everyone to bring forth their strengths, creativity, ingenuity and presentation skills.

Teams will be given time to plan and design their catapult. Teams may allocate resources through a competitive manner in which values are assigned to each part and parts must be purchased. Then, teams will begin the building phase of the project.  Once that is completed each team will get to announce their creation and deliver a short presentation on how this device symbolizes the positive traits of their team or organization. Finally, it’s time to launch and see what happens when the rubber meets the road, or in this case when the yolk meets the ground.

Everyone is a winner since the focus of this activity is on what individuals and teams will bring back to their daily lives that will positively impact their success.
